Two men charged with stealing catalytic converter in Lehighton
Two men face charges after stealing a catalytic converter from a Lehighton business, according to Lehighton police.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by officer Jason Pryce of the Lehighton Borough Police Department in the case against Joshua Sell and Andrew Stahr:
At 7:35 a.m. Aug. 7, Pryce was contacted about a catalytic converter theft at R.J. Walker, 225 Bankway St.
Pryce spoke to the manager, who said the catalytic converters were missing on a delivery vehicle.
Police determined from video, that Sell, 20, of Quakertown, and Stahr, 25, of Whitehall, stole the catalytic converter from a 2019 Chevy 4500 at R.J. Walker.
The catalytic converters were valued at $6,606 by the manager of R.J. Walker.
Both were arraigned and are scheduled for preliminary hearings on Oct. 4 before District Judge Eric M. Schrantz of Jim Thorpe.
Sell is in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 straight bail.
Stahr is free in lieu of $20,000 unsecured bail.
